Re: Decent read about Ben Johnson & his Contract situation
We've been conceding, what about 2 goals per game in the league since Cresswell was out? The clean sheets would almost all have been when he was at right back or in cups?

He is too often stranded, blinking like a rabbit in the headlights at LB (NOT when he is at RB). Opponents are now targeting him (imho - it's difficult to prove)

I like him a lot at RB or RWB, I can easily live with him at LWB (he's a lot better than that fucking useless lump Masuaku, for sure), but I fucking hate him at LB.

It doesn't make me a Johnson-hater by any means. Just my opinion. He stinks at LB.

Surface - you've got that completely arse-about-face. Just look at the stats mentioned in the article - we have six clean sheets when Johnson has played, but he has no assists yet this season. Fact is, he is a good defender but leaves much to be desired going forward. He wasn't bad against Leeds because they gave him more room than he usually gets, but generally he lacks ideas if he's closed down when in possession. He needs to be more positive and particularly more decisive.

Lock him down long term.

Some very promising performances and he's only growing in confidence and getting better.

I LOVED that he wasn't afraid of using his left foot to cross yesterday. Granted one was pretty off target but I thought it was pretty brave to try rather than having to cut back as the defender wanted him to and stall the attacks.

Quite pathetic calling Johnson a liability.

Re: Decent read about Ben Johnson & his Contract situation
I'm fairly sure Johnson has never been first-choice anything at West Ham. His good form allowed Moyes to bring back first-choice right-back Coufal nice and slowly and he is, frankly, a dog-shit fill-in for Cresswell at left back - good in attack, an absolute liabilty in defence. Given his and Fredericks's respective performances against Leeds, I'm not sure he's now even second choice right back. Even Moyes's bewildering love of Masuaku can't stop him being second choice left-back.
